“You’re almost like a therapist.” – Bri Peterson
On average hair stylists make $10.25 per hour, therapists make at least three times as much. (United States Department of Labor > National Employment Matrix)
Hair stylists make up 12% of the U.S. population. On average they earn $10.25 per hour. Then there are therapists. People say their jobs are similar, and it’s true. Think about it, who do many people confide their opinions and deepest thoughts to…their stylists. You might wonder why that is, until you realize people trust them with their hair so why wouldn’t they trust them with their feelings too?
The big difference between the two professionals is their salary. How much do therapists make an hour? The figures are at least three times as much as hair stylist’s earnings.
Now meet Bri Peterson, a hair stylist and self-proclaimed therapist. Since she has so much control of what people look like, she holds quite a bit of responsibility in her hands. Peterson also knows that many of her clients look to her for open ears and advice. For that reason, she uses her friendly personality to steer clients in the right direction or at least make them feel better.
So, the next time you’ve got problems and are low on cash, save your money and go see your hair stylist. Doesn’t this all make you wonder, who really deserves the higher salary?
